On the Precipice - Cooper Ford
On the Precipice centers on the emotions surrounding the uncertainty and societal discord in our current cultural moment. Yet, there is hope for a brighter future. These feelings are characterized by energetic rhythms, constant motion, and weaving melodies between all instruments. Centered in d minor, this piece will help develop performance skills in shifting, solid tone, and playing in 6/8 time. Audiences will be on the edge of their seats from the first downbeat till the last note!
Note From the Composer:
On the Precipice centers on questions of society and the future. For example, how do we handle problems or disagreements? Is it possible to solve these issues, and if so, how? For students, what is their vision of the future and how can they help bring that about? My hope is that this music will not only bring about amazing performances, but also meaningful discussions.
