Mozart lives again! The DeComposer series returns with A Little Nightmare Music, a frightfully fun marching production by Randall Standridge that gives the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart a deliciously macabre twist. This darkly whimsical show rises from the grave with countless opportunities for musical and visual effect as your ensemble reanimates some of the composer’s most iconic melodies.

The score weaves together twisted versions of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Symphony No. 40, Confutatis, Lacrimosa, The Marriage of Figaro, and The Queen of the Night. Each familiar theme is transformed with eerie harmony, unexpected turns, and zombie-like energy that will have performers grinning and audiences shrieking with delight.

Directors may lean into the theatrical possibilities with undead character work, tattered costuming, graveyard or haunted-theater staging, gravestones, or sudden jump-scare visual moments to enhance the humor and horror.
