About Matthew Manning

Matthew Manning (b. June 2nd, 1996) is an African American composer and music educator from Blue Springs, Missouri, who graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s and master of arts in music. During his undergraduate years, he was heavily involved in a variety of ensembles, such as orchestra, marching band, concert band, jazz band, chamber ensembles, and vocal ensembles.

Currently (2022), Mr. Manning performs with ensembles around the Kansas City Metro area, such as the Lee’s Summit Symphony, The Lee’s Summit Community Jazz Orchestra, The Liberty Community Band, and the Warrensburg Community Jazz Band. Mr. Manning is currently in his 4th year of teaching middle school orchestra (6th-8th grade) in the Blue Springs School District. He teaches beginner orchestra (6th) at Brittany Hill and Paul Kinder Middle School and intermediate and advanced orchestra (7th-8th) at Paul Kinder Middle School.
